<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new transmission system related to an exposure sequence period between a camera and an electronic flash device in order to reduce electric energy consumed for the switching control of an X contact. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic flash device electrically connected through the X contact of the camera is equipped with an X contact judgement part, an information receiving part and an exposure sequence judgement part. The X contact judgement part judges the conduction/non-conduction of the X contact. The information receiving part receives non-exposure information showing the finishing time of exposure sequence from the camera. The exposure sequence judgement part detects a period until the finishing time of the exposure sequence shown by the non-exposure information after the X contact judgement part detects the conduction of the X contact as the exposure sequence period of the camera.
