<p>The method involves rolling a metal strip (5) of an upper drive (6) and a lower drive (8) of a roll stand (1) by a control device (7) through an upper specified torque and a lower specified torque, respectively. An upper working roll (2) and a lower working roll (3) are driven by the upper and lower drives. The upper specified torque and the lower specified torque with a modulation frequency and an upper amplitude and a lower amplitude are oscillated to an upper torque average and a lower torque average along opposite directions.
