A resilient interconnection consisting of a bolt and resilient bushes is used to form the bearing mount for an angularly adjustable back rest. As shown, seat 15 and back rest 16 are mounted to rotate together about bearings each consisting of rubber bushes 21 on a bolt 19. A bracket extends from between the bushes to fixed tube 11 and a bracket 18 attached to one end of the bolt supports the movable frame 17. A lever controlled locking plate 24 engages a pin 23 on the frame 17 which is returned to the upright position by a compression spring 28.
