PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for updating multicast and broadcast service are provided to receive MBS(Multicast and Broadcast Service) regardless of a terminal state. CONSTITUTION: If an MBS information is updated, a base station transmits a first message. The first message comprises a service flow update identifier that identifies a method for expressing the current MBS identifier and flow identifier to be updated, information on the current MBS identifier and flow identifier expressed according to the method identified by the service flow update identifier, and new MBS information. A terminal transmits a second message to the base station in response to the first message.
