PURPOSE: A positive type photo-sensitive resin composition, a method for forming a hardening film, the hardening film, an organic electroluminescent display device, and a liquid crystal display device are provided to improve the indium-tin oxide sputtering characteristic, the hardness, and the heat resistance transparent characteristic of the hardening film. CONSTITUTION: A positive type photo-sensitive resin composition includes the following: A resin includes a structural unit with acid-labile group and another structural unit with a functional group. The acid-labile group generates carboxyl group or phenolic hydroxyl group by being decomposed based on acid. The functional group forms a covalent bond by being reacted with the phenolic hydroxyl group. An acid generator is represented by chemical formula 1 or chemical formula 2. A thickener is prepared. In the chemical formulas, the R5 to R7 represents substituted or non-substituted alkyl group or aromatic group. The R8 and the R9 represents substituted or non-substituted aromatic group. The X^- represents conjugated base.
