Class 132(2) A hole-substitute for practising putting comprises an arcuate wall 1 defining a space and spanned by a ridge 5 permitting entry but tending to prevent exit of a putted ball and by an elastic member mounted at a height above the ground equal to the radius of a golf-ball as by fitting in a groove 6 so that the device may be used as described in Specification 880,751. The device may have a bottom 3 having apertures 4 for pegging it down or it may be located solely by its own weight. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the wall 1 is encircled by a groove near one face to receive an elastic band the run of which spanning the opening forms the ridge and a second groove receiving another elastic band.</p> |
