The device (2) has a frame comprising a front part provided with a steering axle unit. A central part of the frame receives a seat of a driver, and a rear part of the frame ensures anchoring of a power unit and a rear drive axle. A standard attachment mechanism is fixed rigidly on a vehicle (1) in a dismountable manner using a locking element to raise a front axle of the vehicle above ground when the vehicle is attached with a towing vehicle (V) and to transform the vehicle in a trailer single axle tractor drawn by the towing vehicle.
