The device (1) has an actuating lever (4) that is movable between gripping and disengaging positions. A decollator (3) is movable between the positions using the lever. The decollator decollates the documents in bundle for passage of the documents in an internal path (10) in the gripping position, and the decollator introduces the documents one by one into the internal path in the disengaging position such that the introduced documents is thicker than the documents introduced in bundle, where the decollator comprises a roller, a pad, a spring and a casing (30).
