PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cheek whether a gastric fistula catheter indwells in a proper state or not by inserting an inserting cord having a detecting means in a catheter tube of the gastric fistula catheter without reversing the direction of the inserting cord nor bending it. SOLUTION: The gastric fistula catheter 1 has a bumper 3 on the outer surface of the tip of the catheter tube 2. In order to check an indwelling state of the placed gastric fistula catheter 1, a detecting means 11 with a lighting part 12 and an observing part 13 is provided for observing the outside of the site, where the bumper 3 of the catheter tube 2 is mounted, on the tip of the inserting cord 10 capable of inserting in the catheter tube 2. By rotating the inserting cord 10 around an axis inside the catheter tube 2, the indwelling state of the gastric fistula catheter 1 is checked without reversing or bending the inserting cord 10.
