PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less expensive image forming device keeping high-quality outputs for a long period.

SOLUTION: The image forming device of a tandem color system in an intermediate transfer system for performing color piling by using a plurality of photoreceptors includes: charging means that charge photoreceptors in each color; a latent image forming means that forms respective latent images on the surface of the charged photoreceptors; developing means that develop the respective latent images formed on the surface of the photoreceptors into respective toner images by using a developer containing at least a toner; transfer means that transfer the respective toner images formed on the surface of the photoreceptors onto an transfer object; and cleaning means that remove residual toner on the photoreceptor surface after transfer. The image forming device also has a protective agent application means for supplying a protective agent including BN and a meta soap as a protective agent for the photoreceptors, to the photoreceptors to the number from 1 to (N-1) out of the N photoreceptors in each color.
