POLYCARBONATE HAVING IMPROVED THERMAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTY AND REDUCED COEFFICIENT OF THERMAL EXPANSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic high-Tg polycarbonate and a molding material which are distinguished by improved thermal properties and improved mechanical properties, in particular by reduced thermal expansion.

SOLUTION: There are disclosed the polycarbonate made of a special bisphenol which contains a structural unit derived from phthalimide, a polycarbonate composition and the molding material obtained therefrom, a process for preparing the polycarbonate, and the use thereof, in particular as a reflector and as a display substrate.
