<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of deriving an optimum laser light power even when OPC areas overlap one another on a recording medium having a plurality of recording layers; and to provide a recording method for the device. <P>SOLUTION: An OPC result is previously recorded on the optical disc. When OPC is performed on the recording medium, information about the result of OPC previously performed is reproduced, and the OPC result is used to perform OPC (area-saving OPC) with a reduced area use quantity, thereby obtaining the optimum laser light power. It is possible to avoid a situation that the OPC areas of the plurality of recording layers overlap one another and therefore the recording power is adjusted to non-optimum power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
