PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display device and an information display method for mounting a portable recording medium such as a memory card to perform display based on content recorded in the portable recording medium, and for automatically recording the content recorded in the mounted portable recording medium in an external mass recording medium, and for making it easy for a user to deal with this information display device to make it suitable for practical use. SOLUTION: The information display device determines whether recording/reproduction equipment (22) for automatic storage of content recorded in a portable recording medium (21) is connected, and when it is determined that the recording/reproduction equipment 1 is connected, and the portable recording medium (21) is mounted, automatically stores the content recorded in the portable recording medium (21) in the recording/reproduction equipment (22).
