PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter for a digital camera capable of selecting one of a plurality of different control systems and taking a photograph. SOLUTION: A first drive member 16 for a front blade and a second drive member 17 for a front blade are attached coaxially. A set member 24 holds the first drive member 16 in the vicinity of an exposure operation completion position, in a set state and can operate the first drive member 16 up to an exposure operation start position, in returning to an initial position just after a release. A restraining means 14 retracts a restraining member 14b to the outside of the operation locus of the restrained part 16c of the first drive member 16, when photographing in a mode in which the front blade and a rear blade travel in order is selected and allows the restraining member 14b to enter the operation locus of the restrained part 16c of the first drive member 16, when photographing in a mode in which only the rear blade travels in such a state that an exposure aperture is fully opened is selected.
