PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a network bit error rate after error correction and decoding when impulsive noise is present in a wireless OFDM network. SOLUTION: To fully gain the benefits of an SNR-based blanking scheme, two methods are developed, namely, a multi-level threshold processing scheme in the time-, spatial- and frequency-domains, and a weighted-input error-correction decoding. The symbols are conditioned as a function of an estimated SNR in time-, frequency-, or spatial-domains or combinations thereof, and the conditioning is applied to an amplitude, phase, or energy level, or combinations thereof.
