PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy and proper connection to an access point. SOLUTION: A wireless communication apparatus includes a wireless communication section 20 for receiving a beacon from a surrounding access point, an input/output processing section 13a for accepting an input of a security key for encryption to be used with an access point to be connected, and a communication process section 13c in which a communication method used for communication with an access point is selected from among a plurality of communication methods that uses encryption available in connection to the access point based on the security key, and communication is performed with the access point using the received identification information of the access point and the determined communication method.
