PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation in the yield due to damages of an inorganic insulating film when a connecting terminal of a substrate for an electro-optical device is connected with an external connecting component by thermo-compression bonding. SOLUTION: The substrate (10) for an electro-optical device includes an inorganic insulating film and a connecting terminal (14) to be connected to an external connecting component. The connecting terminal (14) is provided in a region where no inorganic insulating film is formed, so that reduction in the yield of products caused by damages in the inorganic insulating film can be suppressed, even when an external connecting component is connected to the connecting terminal (14) by the thermo-compression bonding.
