摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elongated composite material that can improve a recovery function, while minimizing a failure, when the failure occurs, that is constituted by at least one oxide superconducting member, and at least one second conductive member surrounding it and that can restrict a failure current. SOLUTION: The elongated and thin current-restricting composite material includes at least one oxide superconducting member and at least one second conductive member substantially surrounding it. The composite material exhibits an electric field of the range of approximately 0.05 to 0.5 V/cm between events restricting a failure current. The event restricting the failure current makes approximately 3 to 10 times the operating current flow through the composite material. The operating current is selected so as to be equal to or less than a critical current of the oxide superconducting member and equal to or more than half there, at a selected operation temperature lower than the critical temperature of at least one oxide superconductive member.
