PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed control device for a vehicle securing turnability while adjusting vehicle speed based on instructed vehicle speed when running down a slope. SOLUTION: In the speed control device, reference brake torque Pwr (Pws)[**] of each wheel is calculated based on a comparison result between an actual vehicle speed Vxa and the instructed vehicle speed Vxt. Usually, the braking torque of each wheel is adjusted to agree with the reference braking torque of a corresponding wheel. When a gradient Kdw of a downward slope is a predetermined value kd1 or above and a steering angle Saa is a predetermined value sa1 or above, adjustment is executed so that the braking torque of a turning outside wheel becomes less than the reference braking torque of the corresponding wheel and the braking torque of a turning inside wheel becomes greater than the reference braking torque of the corresponding wheel. Thus braking torque difference is imparted between inner and outer wheels. Yaw moment is imparted to the vehicle based on the braking torque difference.
