The present invention relates to an input device and to a method for detecting the contact position of the device. The input device comprises: a touch panel unit which generates a plurality of measurement values different from each other in accordance with contact positions, and outputs the plurality of measurement values; a clustering unit which takes the measurement values as an input, and outputs clustered measurement values, containing at least one or more clusters from the plurality of measurement values, using a threshold value; and a center point calculation unit which takes the clustered measurement values as an input, calculates coordinates for each of the clusters using a weighted average, and outputs the calculated coordinates.
