<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method to safely operate an infant care apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The infant care apparatus 10 has a heater 32 which vertically moves between an upper position and a lower position with respect to an infant pedestal by a motor 42 while switching it between functions of an infant incubator and an infant warmer. The heater has a door 34 which can move between an open position and a closed position. When the door is closed, the heater is isolated from being contacted by an infant or an attending personnel carelessly. The infant care apparatus is provided with a first sensor 38 for detecting that the door is in the closed position, a sensor 52 for detecting that the heater is in a predetermined position between the upper position and the lower position, and further a control device which receives signals from these sensors and controls a stepper motor 30 to stop the further operation of the door to the open position when the door is not in the closed position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
