PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide type electronic device wherein a display-side case laterally slides and is also tilt opened with respect to an operation-side case. SOLUTION: The sliding type electronic device includes the operation-side case, a sliding mechanism, and the display-side case superposed slidably on the operation-side case by the sliding mechanism. The sliding mechanism includes a slide plate having one end rotatably pivoted on the display-side case, an elastic member having both ends fixed to the other end of the slide plate and the operation-side case respectively, and a rotary supporting mechanism having both ends rotatably pivoted on the operation-side case and display-side case respectively. When the display-side case slides on the operation-side case, the slide plate is driven by the display-side case to slide and also to curve the elastic member, thereby accumulating resilient force in the elastic member.
