PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multibeam light source having little variation in light quantity. SOLUTION: The multibeam light source includes: a light source unit which has a plurality of light emitting elements on a substrate and emits light beams in a direction substantially perpendicular to the substrate; a package which installs the substrate therein and has a lead terminal connected for causing the light source unit to emit light; and a coupling lens which converts the light beams from the plurality of light emitting elements into a parallel luminous flux or a predetermined converged state. The package has a transparent cover member having a parallel flat plate shape and provided in the light source unit at the side from which the light beams are emitted, the cover member is installed at a predetermined angle with respect to the substrate surface of the substrate, and the predetermined angle is such an angle that, of the light emitted from the light source unit, reflection light reflected on the cover member does not enter any of the plurality of light emitting elements.
