PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainwater intake device from which foreign matter can be easily removed, which is simple in structure, and which can be easily attached to a downpipe for an existing roof or the like by solving problems of an existing rainwater intake device wherein refuses and bird dropping adhered to the surface of a roof or the like are contained in the rainwater at the beginning of the fall and the intake of clean rainwater by eliminating the rainwater at the beginning of the fall is requested, and the collection of rainwater may be obstructed by the intrusion of leaves and large foreign matter accumulated on a roof or the like and in a gutter into the device. SOLUTION: This rainwater intake device includes a downward projecting gutter-shaped rainwater guide which receives all rainwater in a downpipe, collects the rainwater near the centerline, and stabilizes the water flow and a water receiving wall which is separated from the rainwater guide in the horizonal and vertical directions. The rainwater at the beginning of the fall with small volume flushing out of the lower front end of the guide does not reach the water receiving wall and is discharged to the lower downpipe, and the clean rainwater with large volume and high water power is taken beyond the water receiving wall. The rainwater intake device further includes a cover for cleaning the rainwater guide and the water receiving wall and a cylindrical member allowed to slide to be easily attached to the existing downpipe.
