PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a device is determined to be outside the home, so that content can not be viewed when authentication is not successful because a function is incorporated for confirming that a transmitting side device and a receiving side device are in the same home when transmitting content of a copyright protection target. SOLUTION: In these content transmitter and content receiver connected by a plurality of transmission paths, one transmission path is selected among the plurality of transmission paths to perform authentication processing. When the authentication processing fails, in the selected transmission path, another transmission path is selected to perform authentication processing. When authentication is successful in a certain selected transmission path, content can be viewed by making the authentication result effective in the whole transmission paths connecting the content transmitter and the content receiver.
