The device (10) has a set of legs (12, 14) and a connection base part (16). Height of one of the legs is smaller than height of another leg, where the device consists of metal, plastic timber or composite material. Through-holes are provided in a region of the base part for fastening the device at an upper surface of a door, using nails or screws, and a lower side of the base part is provided with an adhesive band or a hook-and-loop fastener strip. A controlling unit of the latter leg is provided with a sealing strip, where the device includes a part separated from elongated profiled material. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a retention device.
