<p>A liquid crystal display device (1A) is provided with a liquid crystal panel (10), a plurality of radiation sections (21), a daylighting section (40), an optical sensor (43), a light distributor (30), and a control unit (51). The daylighting section (40) collects the taken outside light and carries the collected light to the light distributor (30), and the light distributor (30) distributes the carried light and carries the distributed light to each of the plurality of radiation sections (21). The optical sensor (43) detects the quantity of light taken by the daylighting section (40). The control unit (51) determines the display area of an image which ought to be displayed on the liquid crystal panel (10) on the basis of input image information and the quantity of light detected by the optical sensor (43), controls the driving of the liquid crystal panel (10) in such a manner that the image is displayed in the display area, and controls the driving of the light distributor (30) in such a manner that light is selectively distributed to only a radiation section provided correspondingly to the display area among the radiation sections (21). With this configuration, it is possible to obtain a daylighting liquid crystal display device which is capable of properly displaying an image, and in which increased low power consumption has been facilitated.</p> |
