<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a wavelength control range, in an optical transmission module. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transmission module includes a variable wavelength light source; an alternating current adding means that adds an alternating current to a drive current of the variable wavelength light source; a first detecting means that detects the light power of output light of the variable wavelength light source; a filter means, having characteristics that a transmission wavelength periodically increases and decreases and to which the output light of the variable wavelength light source is inputted; a second detecting means for detecting light power of transmitted light of the filter means; an extracting means for extracting wavelength variation component of the output light of the variable wavelength light source, from the output light power detected by the first detecting means and the transmitted light power detected by the second detecting means; a phase comparison means for comparing a phase of the wavelength variation component extracted by the extracting means, with a phase of the alternating current added to the drive current by the alternating current adding means; and a wavelength control means for controlling the wavelength of the output light of the variable wavelength light source to a prescribed wavelength, by controlling the temperature of the variable wavelength light source, according to the wavelength variation component extracted by the extracting means and the comparison result of the phase comparison means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
