<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a zirconia-alumina composite ceramic material having excellent strength reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The zirconia-alumina composite ceramic material includes: a first phase, which includes 10-12 mol% ceria and comprises a zirconia particle that comprises ≥90 vol.% tetragonal zirconia and that has 0.1-1 μm average particle size; and a second phase comprising an alumina particle having 0.1-0.5 μm average particle size. The zirconia-alumina composite ceramic material has such a composite structure that the zirconia particle is dispersed in the alumina particle and the alumina particle is dispersed in the zirconia particle. The method for producing the zirconia-alumina composite ceramic material comprises the steps of: preparing the slurry containing first powder and second powder so that the viscosity of the slurry becomes ≤1.5 mPa s; and crushing/mixing the slurry so that powder having the particle size larger than 5 μm does not exist in the slurry. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
