<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus for changing an application based on a distance from a user to the display apparatus, a display control method, and a display control program. <P>SOLUTION: The distance from the user to the display apparatus is detected (steps S106 and S108). Based on the detected distance, an application, an inputting means, an icon state, a character size, a volume level and a luminance level are selected (steps S112 to S117). Audio to be output is set to a selected volume (step S118), and the application that may be operated by using the selected inputting means is displayed on a display (step S119). Based on the selected icon state, an icon is displayed on the display or no icon is displayed (step S119).
