<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet which provides the thermal transfer image-receiving sheet exhibiting excellent dyeing properties, mold releasability and light resistance, and a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet with a dye receiving layer containing the resin composition, and a production method for the resin composition for the thermal transfer image-receiving sheet. <P>SOLUTION: [1] The resin composition for the thermal transfer image-receiving sheet contains a graft polymer (A) containing a main chain segment (A1) formed of a polyester resin obtained by polycondensing an alcohol component containing an alkyleneoxide adduct of 2,2-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) propane in an amount of 50 mol% or larger with a carboxylic acid component, and a side chain segment (A2) formed of an addition polymer-based resin, and a resin (B) having a glass transition temperature lower by an amount of 10 to 80°C than the glass transition temperature of the graft polymer (A). [2] The thermal transfer image-receiving sheet has, on a substrate, the dye receiving layer containing the resin composition for the thermal transfer image-receiving sheet.
