PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat roll capable of achieving power saving and reducing a warmup time. SOLUTION: The heat roll 92 used in an image forming apparatus includes: an insulating pipe 81; a resistance heating element layer 82; and a releasing layer 83. The insulating pipe 81 has electric insulation. The resistance heating element layer 82 is disposed at the outer peripheral side of the insulating pipe 81, and generates heat by being applied with a voltage. The resistance heating element layer 82 is formed of a molybdenum silicide, a tungsten silicide or the like. The releasing layer 83 covers the resistance heating element layer 82.
