PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing mechanism of an automatic shredder which is convenient for operation. SOLUTION: The pressing mechanism of the automatic shredder is provided with a press plate to press paper towards a paper feeder that sends the paper to be shredded to the shredder cutter, a first fixed plate fitted to the body so that it can freely be rotated, a second fixed plate fixed to the body and a link mechanism installed between the press plate and the first fixed plate, wherein the link mechanism transfers the press plate between the position for pressing to press the paper towards the paper feeder and the position for evacuation to evacuate the paper so that the paper to be shredded can be incorporated into the paper feeder in association with the rotation of the first fixed plate.
