<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an overrun when generation of image data in a second printer is delayed behind sheet discharge of a first printer in a system that connects the first printer with the second printer. <P>SOLUTION: In the printing system, the sheet discharge part of the first printer for printing with a first color material is connected with the sheet feed part of the second printer for printing with a second color material. The first printer generates first print data and second print data from input print data and transmits the second print data to the second printer. Next, the first print data is made to undergo image processing to generate first image data, which is printed on a sheet with the first color material for sheet discharge.
