PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an appropriate screen by appropriately evaluating a viewing way of moire. SOLUTION: A plurality of screens to be candidates for a screen (a matrix) with respect to each color to be used in an image forming apparatus are set based on the operation of a user. Then, the periodic characteristics of the set screens are converted into individual kinds of color information, and then united as one kind of color information. Then, the united one kind of color information is converted into spatial frequency information to quantitatively evaluate an interference amount between the screen and an original, based on the spatial frequency information. Thus, binarized image data is output to a printer engine 2 through the use of the screen with the least interference amount (the evaluation value). COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
