PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device and its manufacturing method capable of suppressing deterioration caused by moisture. SOLUTION: The organic EL device is provided with an insulation substrate 101, a fourth insulation film 114 arranged above the insulation substrate 101, a first pixel electrode PE1 arranged on the fourth insulation film 114, a second pixel electrode PE2 arranged on the fourth insulation film 114 and separated from the first pixel electrode PE1, a first barrier rib PI1 arranged along a peripheral edge of the first pixel electrode PE1, a second barrier rib PI2 separated from the first barrier rib PI1 and arranged along a peripheral edge of the second pixel electrode PE2, a first organic layer ORG1 arranged on the first pixel electrode PE1, a second organic layer ORG2 arranged on the second pixel electrode PE2, and a counter electrode CE arranged on the first organic layer ORG1 and the second organic layer ORG2.
