A fishing-rod assembly (10) is provided for real-time observation of under- water fish behavior while fishing. The fishing-rod assembly (10) includes a fishing rod or pole (26) which supports a fishing line (30) having a fish hook (42), a video camera (38), and a monitor (72) for displaying video images of fish behavior in proximity to the fish hook (42). Also provided is a method for observing underwater fish activity while fishing. The method comprises focusing an underwater camera (38) on an end of a fishing line (30), and displaying video images of fish activity at the end of the fishing line. |
