The invention relates to a method for operating a controller (3) for detecting a position of a runner of an electrical machine (2), particularly a rotor position of a rotor, having the following steps: monitoring (S1) a supply line of the electrical machine (2) in order to recognize a signal generated by induction of a generator voltage as a trigger signal; upon recognizing the trigger signal, changing (S2, S3) from a first operating mode, in which at least the function of detecting the position of the runner (23) is deactivated, to a second operating mode, in which the function of detecting the position of the runner (23) is activated. |
