<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous dispersion for inkjet recording containing little coarse particles and having excellent storage stability, and an aqueous ink for inkjet recording containing an aqueous dispersion obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: (1) The method for producing such an aqueous dispersion for inkjet recording includes a step (3) of dispersing a mixture comprising a β-copper phthalocyanine pigment (B) having a free copper ion content of ≤500 ppm, a water-insoluble polymer, a slightly water-soluble organic solvent and water.
