COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication apparatus capable of reducing the effect of a nonlinear optical effect on an optical transmission path in an optical communication system without deteriorating signal quality.

SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes: a memory for holding a waveform table showing sample values of a time waveform about each bit pattern of a bit string of a plurality of bits; a waveform reader for reading a sample value of a time waveform corresponding to a bit pattern of an input bit string from the waveform table; and a converter for converting the read sample value of the time waveform into an analog signal.
