PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably perform communication between a terminal on a global network and a terminal on a private network by reducing the number of setting ports of port forwarding to be set in an NAT (Network Address Translator) router. SOLUTION: Only information on an IP (Internet Protocol) address and on a port number of an IP telephone apparatus BT are registered beforehand in the NAT rooter RT1. In the IP telephone apparatus BT, an address map table in which private telephone numbers, IP addresses and port numbers of IP telephone sets T11, T21, are correlated with each other is stored in a memory. When call connection is established between the IP telephone sets T11 and T21, the IP telephone apparatus BT refers to the address map table, and when the NAT rooter RT1 is interposed on a communication link, notifies the IP telephone set T21 connected to an IP network NW side of an IP address and a port number of the IP telephone apparatus's own apparatus as an IP address and a port number of a communication partner, and brings the communication link between the IP telephone sets T11, T21 into a sound gateway 16.
