PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assist grip which prevents any defective hydraulic transfer when forming a coating film layer on a surface of a grip body by the hydraulic transfer while a groove part is formed on the surface. SOLUTION: A groove part 33 is formed on the surface of a grip body 3, and a coating film layer 7 is formed on the entire surface by the hydraulic transfer. A fitting recess 31 for accommodating a fitting member 5 is formed on both ends in the longitudinal direction of the grip body 3 to be communicated with the groove 33. The coating film layer 7 is adequately formed by immersing the grip body 3 in water so that an open port 33a as a communication part between the fitting recess 31 and the groove part 33 is faced upwardly, by guiding air between the groove part 33 and the coating film 13 to the open port 33a, reliably exhausting air into the atmosphere from the open port 33a through the fitting recess 31, and executing the hydraulic transfer of the coating film 13 floating on the water surface w1 to the surface of the grip body 3.
