<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability while preventing an image quality deterioration by allowing a post-correction virtual effective area to have a portion located in an area between a pre-correction virtual effective area U and an effective area of a displaying means. <P>SOLUTION: A projection-type display apparatus includes a displaying means 7a having an effective area K that is the largest usable area for a display as shown in Fig.1, and a geometric distortion correcting part 6 configured to correct a geometric distortion by performing, for an input image which is set in the effective area K and on which a pre-correction virtual effective area U of a geometric distortion is superimposed, enlargement processing for enlarging the pre-correction virtual effective area U so that a post-correction virtual effective area M can have a portion located in an area V between the virtual effective area U and the effective area K. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
