<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus capable of replicating a video content with a viewing period restriction to allow reproduction by a plurality of reproduction devices while protecting the benefit of a provider of the video content, and a method of replicating the content. <P>SOLUTION: When copying a content C included in a DTV 2 being an example of the electronic apparatus and having a specified viewing period restriction transmitted to a PC 3, the DTV 2 performs the processing of setting the viewing period restriction of the content again. When copying the content C, viewing permission times of the content C after copying and a content C' generated by copying are defined so that the sum of viewing permission residual times of the content C being a content of a copy source and the content C' generated by copying is set equal to a value of an original viewing permission residual time of the content C.
