摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining an existence of a hepatitis C virus in a sample more accurately without causing an agglutination of particles in detecting HCV core protein by an immune complex metastasis measurement method using the particles, and to provide a reagent kit for determining the existence of the hepatitis C virus. SOLUTION: The present invention provides, when the sample suspected of containing the hepatitis C virus is treated with a reagent containing an alkaline substance and neutralized with a reagent containing an acid substance in detecting the HCV core protein by the immune complex metastasis measurement method using the particles, the method for determining the existence of the hepatitis C virus in the sample, wherein either one of the reagents contains a reducing agent; and the reagent kit for determining the existence of the hepatitis C virus.
