PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system that reduces the capacity for storing the number of erases by a simple method. SOLUTION: The memory system is provided with: a storage part for storing data in a block as a unit of erasing data; a counter storage part 33 for storing the number of erases to be stored each time data stored in the storage part are erased; a random number acquisition part 30 for acquiring random numbers when the data stored in the storage part are erased; a condition determination part 31 for determining whether predetermined conditions are fulfilled by the random numbers; an erase increasing part 32 for, when it is determined that the predetermined conditions are fulfilled by the random numbers by the condition determination part 31, increasing the number of erases; and a changing part 34 for changing the predetermined conditions when the number of erases stored in the storage part exceeds a predetermined value.
