PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cooling efficiency of a kneading rotor by selectively cooling a part desired to cool in the kneading rotor. SOLUTION: The kneader 1 has a barrel 2 housing a material to be charged and the kneading rotor 4 housed in the barrel 2 and provided with a kneading blade 16. The kneading rotor 4 has an outer cylindrical body 17 provided with the blade 16 on the outer peripheral surface and having a cavity inside and an inner cylindrical body 19 inside the outer cylindrical body 17 with a predetermined distance from the inner surface 17a of the outer cylindrical body 17. The inner cylindrical body 19 includes cooling medium passages 23, 24 inside to circulate a cooling medium, and a through-hole 25 penetrating the outer peripheral wall 19a in the diameter direction and sending out the cooling medium supplied by the cooling medium passage 23 toward the inner surface 17a of the outer cylindrical body 17 is provided in an outer peripheral wall 19a of the inner cylindrical body 19.
