PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide implants having an intercellular matrix anchored to a biocompatible scaffold. SOLUTION: The intercellular matrix of tissue provides a natural medium to facilitate the healing and growth of damaged tissue in a patient. Methods of treating damaged tissue in a patient by inserting such implants into the damaged tissue are also provided. The implants include implants comprising allogenic and/or autologous tissue.
