PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing a floating cell which is capable of preventing the floating cell from being removed upon exchange of a culture solution and which is capable of observing the floating cell without taking out the floating cell from a culture vessel. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method for culturing a floating cell 52 by using a cell 1 including: a flat chamber 7 formed between transmission plates 3 and 4 by arranging a pair of transmission plates 3, 4 facing each other across a spacer 6; a guide tube 10 introducing a culture solution 51 into the chamber 7 and a guide tube 11 discharging the culture solution 51 from the chamber 7 provided around the chamber 7; and a second needle insertible into the guide tube 11 so that the tip end of the needle is projected into the chamber 7. The method includes: a capture process in which the floating cell 52 is captured in the chamber 7 by discharging the culture solution while introducing the culture solution 51 containing the floating cell 52 into the chamber 7; and a culture solution exchange process in which the culture solution in the chamber 7 is exchanged by sequentially discharging the culture solution while introducing the culture solution 51 into the chamber 7.
