Disclosed are an antenna device and a communications device capable of providing an antenna device having either broadband or diversity characteristics. The antenna device comprises a first antenna element (11) and a second antenna element (12), and a distribution circuit (13) to which the two antenna elements (11, 12) are respectively connected via separate transmission paths (15, 16). A latency process is performed with one of the transmission paths by changing the lengths of the transmission path (15) that connects the first antenna element (11) and the distribution circuit (13) and the transmission path (16) that connects the second antenna element (12) and the distribution circuit (13). Performing the latency process adjusts the input impedance and/or phase of the first and second antenna elements (11, 12), resulting in a greater broadband characteristic than the antenna characteristic of the first and second antenna elements in isolation.
